Preparing for the summer months
As summers approach, every other woman has a thought stuck in her mind, to prepare her body to sport a bikini again. For some women,
this thought is nothing less than living a nightmare every day because of so many impending things they need to do to be back in their favorite swimsuits. Here’s a list of dos and don’ts that would help you gear up for the summer season:
Get rid of the hair on your bikini line and legs
Hitting the beach with hair on your body is a bad idea! Before you plan your visit to the beach, make sure you wax off or shave the hair at home or at a parlor. Make sure you do this a day or two before you have to go swimming or you will have to wear a modest bathing Suit as sea water or water in the swimming pools, that generally has chlorine, can cause irritation on your skin. Recheck areas like toes, armpits and bikini line for any stray hair as you do not want them to shine bright while you enjoy your bath in the sea or at the pool
Do not go in for fatty beverages and drinks with artificial sweeteners
To get the perfect bikini body, you have to start preparing yourself, months in advance. One step towards doing this is to avoid fizzy drinks and other beverages that have high levels of sugar, sweeteners and preservatives as their consumption can lead to more water retention in your body
Don’t think you cannot do anything about your jiggly arms
If you have that extra flab on your body, you can buy swimsuits that can help you hide it but most of them would not be able to do anything about your arms. The only thing for you to do is to tone them up before summers arrive. Arms can be toned easily, as compared to some other parts of your body. Learn some exercises for your arms and add them to your routine
Do up your abs with the latest move called the ‘windmill’
If you have been doing crunches and got no results so far, dump that exercise and try the new move called the windmill. Here’s how you do it
-
- Lie down on your back and place your arms on your sides, making your body take a T shape
- Life your legs and bend your knees to form a 90 degree angle
- Bend your legs to the right, come back to the center and then again bend down to your left. While you bend, remember to tap on the ground on both the sides
- Do 20 repetitions and three sets of this exercise thrice a week and get your tummy back in shape
Do make the best use of moisturizers and exfoliating scrubs
When preparing your body for the bikini season, use exfoliating scrubs as well as moisturizers. While the scrubs will help exfoliate and remove the dead skin, moisturizers will help keep the body soft and supple. Moisturize your body and your with different poducts as these two areas differ in their needs and thus need special care.
